Note: Negative marking is 0.25 number for each wrong answer
In preliminary exam you have to cross minimum sectional as well as overall cutoff marks there is no need to grab more no of marks as its marks will not be considered as final selection.
Once you have crossed minimum cutoff you will be eligible for mains

Note: Negative marking is 0.25 number for each wrong answer
Once you have crossed Mains Exams you will called for Interview. In mains exam it would be better score as more as possible because these marks will be considered for final allotment. As interview will be of only 20 marks and 60 marks of mains will be converted into 80 by multiplying scored marks in mains with 1.3
For example, you have scored 40 marks in mains it will be converted according to 80 by multiplying 40 * 1.3 = 52
